Southeastern
Shoe Travelers Association (SESTA) evolved in November
1942. The purpose of SESTA is “to promote the best interests and
welfare of its members” as well as “encourage
a spirit of cooperation among those engaged in the
distribution of shoes and kindred merchandise”.
Over the years the show has grown in size and in February
2000 the SESTA Board of Directors voted to change the
name of the tradeshow to the “The Atlanta Shoe Market” (TASM). The show has flourished and most
recently been named as the 10th largest Shoe & Accessory
Show in the world! TASM is held twice a year and directly
follows the WSA Show in Las Vegas. SESTA is the managing
association for The Atlanta Shoe Market (TASM).
Today we have over 550 members of the association. The
membership is comprised of industry shoe representatives
and is governed by a board of directors that is elected
by the general membership at the SESTA general membership
luncheon meeting every August.
SESTA also manages the “Atlanta Fashion Shoe & Accessory
Market” held twice a year in Atlanta, Georgia.
This show directly follows the New York FFANY Show and
is generally held in December and June.
The cost of membership in SESTA is $45 annually. The
benefits of membership are numerous and include participation
in the markets, complimentary list of retailers that
attended the shows, as well as assistance with job opportunities.
